Start with what you want to do

You do not need to use every part of Stowlet at once. Think about the information you are saving and what you want to do with it later. Is it something to read, a set of steps to complete or an action that needs your attention? That is a useful starting point for choosing an item.

Notes: a home for ideas and information

Use a note for meeting points, an idea to revisit, useful instructions or details you want to remember. Give it a title that describes its contents. “Garden ideas” is easier to recognize than “New note”. Keep related details together, and start another note when the subject changes.

Lists: turn a task into steps

Lists are one item type for tasks, shopping, packing and reusable checklists. A checklist fits preparing a room or following a repeated routine. Write each action as a separate step so you can see what is finished and what remains. Keep a useful checklist for next time and clone it when you want a fresh starting point.

Planners: organize an upcoming plan

Use a planner for a plan or scheduled activity. For a trip, keep the planned activities in a planner and packing steps in a separate checklist.

Reminders: bring an action to your attention

A reminder has its own purpose: prompting you about an action. For example, remind yourself to prepare something before departure. On Android, allow notifications and check your phone settings when relying on reminder alerts.

Use the dedicated places when they fit

Recipes, code snippets, Cards & Codes, subscriptions and Secrets have their own places in Stowlet. Use them when their purpose matches your information. For example, track a renewal in Subscriptions and keep a private entry in Secrets, following its lock and unlock guidance.

A simple example

For a weekend away, create a note for travel details, a packing checklist and a reminder for something you must do before leaving. Give the items clear titles and organize them using categories where available. Each item has a job, and the combination helps you prepare without one enormous note.

Once you know which item fits, start with one useful workflow. The Stowlet product page explains the workspace and platform options.
